| OPERATION HONDURAS Dear partners, James 1:27 states, "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." If you have ever spent time at an orphanage this verse begins to have real meaning. Something changes on the inside of you. You are no longer overwhelmed and over concerned about the things in your own life. Those worries seem simple and far off. All that becomes important is love and packing as much of it into your short time with the kids around you that so desperately need it. You begin to see that a single football brings more joy than you could have imagined, and one hug, so easy to give away, lingers longer than you could have expected. I've played with orphans for a single day, thirty at a time, then returned the next year to discover they remember exactly what we played and who I am. It is so easy just to play with the kids and give that single day, yet there is such a pure thing that happens as you genuinely share the love of Christ; you see His heart for the poor. -Tara Boshart Garcia |

Reaching out to
orphans, helping
provide for them in
various ways from
building supplies, to
food, to gifts. And we
have felt such joy
watching the
orphanages grow, as I
am sure you have
seeing what your
sponsorships have
been able to
accomplish!
Now, with the Lord's
precious leading we are
widening our scope to
include all orphanages
of Honduras! Because
most of our work has
been among Honduran
orphanages we have
several resources and
connections in this
country that we know
can benefit the other
orphanages there as
well. So, with your
continued support and
God's faithful provision
we will reach out to the
15+ orphanages we
have located within
Honduras.

among these orphanages that

*Clean Water
*Food and Nutrition
*Clean Living Space
*Hygiene Awareness
As you have seen in past
newsletters, some of these
have already been
accomplished in the three
orphanages we've previously
partnered with, and we
believe the Lord will show up
to help us accomplish them
among the other Honduran
orphanages as well.
Summer 2009:

needs. These visits are

trusting relationship on both
sides and for opening the door
for God's Kingdom work to

21st. There is a team of four
wonderful ladies traveling to
three orphanages to share
Christ's love and bless them
with the materials our
sponsors have helped provide.

Many of you have already given above and beyond what we could ask for, and for that we are extremely thankful. We know through you the Lord has loved on these kids. You have been His hands in many ways. Now as we begin to put into action Operation Honduras we need you more than ever. I've heard another missionary say about a project they were doing, "If the Lord doesn't show up, we are dust." I believe it is the same in our situation. But I wouldn't want it to be any other way, because then the people will be able to say our God is great! We give Him all the glory for past accomplishments and we are looking to Him alone to equip us to succeed in this endeavor. We know He will use His body, His church, to show these kids His great love and how powerful He can be. I have great faith in the fact that we will hear one day of how this Honduran orphan and that one are serving the Lord greatly and impacting their nation and the world for Christ, and we will have played the part God needed us to! *** Therefore, upon our return in August from Honduras, we will begin to plan for several gatherings where we can fully share the purpose of Operation Honduras. If you are interested in helping us get the word out so we can sufficiently meet these five basic needs among Honduras' orphanages please gather some friends and family, and we will schedule a time to meet with you and share. |
