Our History
My desire to work with orphans
began to develop during my time spent on
the island of Roatan, Honduras during
2003-2005. I was teaching in a bilingual
school and working at the local church.
Other missionaries and myself would
often visit the two orphanages located
on the island. Soon, sponsors back home
became interested in sending supplies for these orphanages; as well
as, sending teams to work there. I loved hosting the teams and
taking the goodies, and I began to realize that orphans held a dear
place in my heart.
Shortly upon returning to the U.S., the opportunity to begin a
non-profit seemed to be placed into my lap! The Lord just kept
putting the right people and moments into my path. Thus began
R.O.O.M., reach out orphanage ministries!
It took about three years to complete our non-profit status and
build our board. During that time, we developed relationships with
several other orphanages on short-term mission trips. With the help
of our sponsors and volunteers, we also had the privilege of
providing for some pretty big needs!

The Vision:
While the majority of our work is currently in Honduras, the
vision of R.O.O.M. is world-wide. We have been contacted by
some very needy orphanages in other countries (see orphanage
page) and greatly have the desire to visit and begin our work there
as well.
We are believing the Lord for the finances to take teams to
these other locations and for people with a heart for these
countries to join us. Our hope is to reach EVERY orphanage
everywhere with the love of Christ; assisting those already there
physically, emotionally, mentally, and especially spiritually. The plan
is to continue and grow as long as there is an orphanage out there
in need.
